CS2 Active Drop Pool

Drop-pool state checked 30 August 2026

The pool has two sides: containers and direct-finish weapon collections. Prime players earn one Weekly Care Package per global cycle after their first Profile Rank increase following the reset; four offers appear and two can be selected. The active containers are Dead Hand Terminal, Kilowatt Case, Revolution Case, Recoil Case, and Dreams & Nightmares Case. Active collections are listed directly below. Sealed Genesis Terminal is rare, not active.

What Is in the Current CS2 Drop Pool?

Valve explicitly introduced Dead Hand Terminal as a weekly reward. The four conventional cases are supported by current game data, SteamDB, and repeated package observations, but Valve has not published them as a permanent official roster.

State Type Container How it is used Evidence Checked
Active Terminal Dead Hand Terminal Select it weekly; a separate paid skin offer follows Valve, game data, SteamDB, observation 30 Aug 2026
Active Case Kilowatt Case Select it weekly; matching key required to open Game data, SteamDB, observation 30 Aug 2026
Active Case Revolution Case Select it weekly; matching key required to open Game data, SteamDB, observation 30 Aug 2026
Active Case Recoil Case Select it weekly; matching key required to open Game data, SteamDB, observation 30 Aug 2026
Active Case Dreams & Nightmares Case Select it weekly; matching key required to open Game data, SteamDB, observation 30 Aug 2026

Evidence boundary: Dead Hand's weekly introduction is Valve-confirmed. The conventional-case roster is a dated, community-observed state corroborated by current data—not a permanent Valve promise or a published probability table.

This corrects three common errors: Genesis is rare, Recoil remains active, and another Profile Rank increase in the same cycle does not create another package.

How the Weekly Care Package Works

  1. Have Prime Status.
  2. Earn Profile XP in an eligible official Valve mode.
  3. Complete the first Profile Rank increase after the global reset.
  4. Open four offers and choose two; the other two are forfeited.
  5. Wait for the next global reset before another package can be earned.
Six-step CS2 Weekly Care Package flow from Prime eligibility to the next global reset

You only need to finish your existing progress toward the next Profile Rank. Additional matches can advance that rank, but they do not produce a second package or a documented boost to rare-container chances.

Current observation places the global reset at approximately Wednesday 01:00 UTC. It is not a personal seven-day timer, and Valve does not guarantee that exact minute. Rollover is unresolved: some unlocked packages may remain visible, but Valve does not document missed rewards stacking. Claim the package before the next reset.

Reward type What you receive Key or payment
Conventional case Locked container Matching key
Weekly collection Direct weapon finish No key
Terminal Access to a collection offer No case key; offered skin is paid
Sealed graffiti Graffiti item No key
Key and payment requirements for weekly cases, terminals, Armory rewards, collections, and Souvenir Packages

Packages commonly show one container, one direct finish, and two graffiti offers. That layout and complete tile uniqueness are observed behavior, not permanent Valve guarantees. Knives and gloves are not direct offer tiles.

Which Weapon Collections Are in the Weekly Drop Pool?

Collection or source Reward Route Evidence and date
The 2018 Inferno Collection Direct weapon finish Weekly Care Package Game data, SteamDB, observation; 30 Aug 2026
The 2018 Nuke Collection Direct weapon finish Weekly Care Package Game data, SteamDB, observation; 30 Aug 2026
The Bank Collection Direct weapon finish Weekly Care Package Game data, SteamDB, observation; 30 Aug 2026
The Dust 2 Collection Direct weapon finish Weekly Care Package Game data, SteamDB, observation; 30 Aug 2026
The Italy Collection Direct weapon finish Weekly Care Package Game data, SteamDB, observation; 30 Aug 2026
The Lake Collection Direct weapon finish Weekly Care Package Game data, SteamDB, observation; 30 Aug 2026
The Safehouse Collection Direct weapon finish Weekly Care Package Game data, SteamDB, observation; 30 Aug 2026
The Train Collection Direct weapon finish Weekly Care Package Game data, SteamDB, observation; 30 Aug 2026
Base-game sealed-graffiti pool Sealed graffiti Weekly Care Package Game data and observation; 30 Aug 2026

These are direct rewards, not cases. If you are comparing the rarity of collection finishes, BO5's guide to the cheapest Covert skins in CS2 provides the relevant market context. Valve does not expose a publication-safe weighted table for every graffiti design and color.

CS2 Rare Drop Pool

The current evidence does not support the claim that rare weekly drops were switched off. The snapshot contains one rare terminal and 33 rare conventional cases. Their server-side weights are unpublished, so “rare” describes an observed state, not a percentage.

Rare terminal Route Evidence Checked
Sealed Genesis Terminal Low-frequency Weekly Care Package offer; separate paid skin offer follows Game data, SteamDB, observation, and dated migration inference 30 Aug 2026

All 33 cases below share the same publication boundary: community-observed rare weekly container; matching key required; game-data/SteamDB/player-observation evidence; checked 30 August 2026; high volatility; no published Valve weight.

Operation names do not automatically mean retired. Hydra, Wildfire, Vanguard, Breakout, Phoenix, and Bravo remain in the observed rare pool.

Obtainable Sources That Are Not Weekly Drops

Terminal Sources

Terminal Weekly state Acquisition route Checked
Dead Hand Terminal Active Weekly Care Package, then separate paid skin offer 30 Aug 2026
Sealed Genesis Terminal Rare Low-frequency weekly offer, then separate paid skin offer 30 Aug 2026

The terminal is the reward. The collection skin requires a separate paid offer, and a case key does not open the terminal.

Current Armory Sources

Source Type Armory state First confirmed in this state Evidence / checked
Fever Case Case redemption Current Mar 2025; exact day unresolved Valve/game data; 30 Aug 2026
Arabesque Collection Weapon collection Current 8 Jul 2026 Valve/game data; 30 Aug 2026
Spy Tech Collection Weapon collection Current 8 Jul 2026 Valve/game data; 30 Aug 2026
Fruits & Veggies Sticker Collection Sticker collection Current 8 Jul 2026 Valve/game data; 30 Aug 2026
Auto Racing Sticker Collection Sticker collection Current 8 Jul 2026 Valve/game data; 30 Aug 2026

Train 2025, Sport & Field, Sugarface 2, and Elemental Craft left redemption on 8 July 2026. Existing items remain. Gallery Case status was unresolved, so it is not labelled current or removed.

Store Source

Source Route Weekly drop? Evidence / checked
Anubis Collection Package In-game store purchase No Valve/game data; 30 Aug 2026

Souvenir Sources

Source Route Weekly drop? Evidence / checked
Event-specific Souvenir Package Event token and redemption window No Valve/game data; 30 Aug 2026

Existing Souvenir Packages also come from inventories, markets, or trades. There is no permanent Souvenir roster; it depends on the event, map pool, token rules, and redemption window.

Retired Operation Cases

Case Current primary route Weekly state Evidence / checked
Shattered Web Case Existing inventory, market, or trade Retired Game data, SteamDB, observation; 30 Aug 2026
Operation Broken Fang Case Existing inventory, market, or trade Retired Game data, SteamDB, observation; 30 Aug 2026
Operation Riptide Case Existing inventory, market, or trade Retired Game data, SteamDB, observation; 30 Aug 2026

Retired does not mean deleted, untradeable, or unopenable.

Historical Operation-Only Collections

These ten standard collections are operation-only historical sources. Their existing finishes can still move through inventory, markets, trades, or eligible contracts, but that does not make the collections active weekly drops.

Collection Collection Collection
The Norse Collection The St. Marc Collection The Canals Collection
The Ancient Collection The Control Collection The Havoc Collection
The 2021 Dust 2 Collection The 2021 Mirage Collection The 2021 Train Collection
The 2021 Vertigo Collection

A Souvenir-tagged variant can have an event route without reactivating its standard collection.

Trade-Up-Only Outputs

Mechanic Inputs Output route Evidence / checked
Standard Trade Up Contract 10 eligible items of one rarity One item of the next rarity Game data; 30 Aug 2026
Expanded Covert contract 5 eligible regular Covert items Regular knife or gloves from represented collections Game data; 30 Aug 2026
StatTrak Covert contract 5 eligible StatTrak Covert items StatTrak knife from represented collections Game data; 30 Aug 2026

Trade-ups consume existing inputs; they do not make an old collection active. After acquisition, you can inspect a CS2 skin's float and pattern.

How the CS2 Drop Pool Changed

Date Change Evidence
27 Sep 2023 Weekly Care Package launched with four offers and two selections Valve/game data
6 Feb 2024 Kilowatt entered active; Fracture moved rare in tracker history Official release; observed migration
2 Oct 2024 Armory Pass, credits, and separate catalog launched Valve/game data
Mar 2025 Fever Case entered the Armory Valve/game data; day unresolved
11 Mar 2026 Dead Hand entered active; Genesis moved rare Release official; roster observed/inferred
8 Jul 2026 Arabesque, Spy Tech, Fruits & Veggies, and Auto Racing replaced four Armory sources Valve Season 5 update
30 Aug 2026 Snapshot fixed at 5 active, 34 rare, and 3 retired operation containers Game data/SteamDB/observation
Dead Hand replacing Genesis in the active terminal position while four conventional cases remained active

Dead Hand replaced Genesis in the active terminal position. That does not prove Valve guarantees one terminal slot or reveal the next removal.

When a source leaves routine circulation, reduced supply can affect high-value items unevenly. BO5's guide to the most expensive CS2 and CS:GO skins explains why completed sales, listings, offers, and estimates must still be kept separate.

Valve-Confirmed and Community-Observed Claims

Label Meaning Safe use
V Valve or Steam states it Direct statement
G Current client resources support it Names and mappings, not weights
D SteamDB shows a dated state Membership, not official odds
O Repeated player observations Attribute as observed
I Before-and-after inference Explain the basis
U Incomplete evidence Preserve uncertainty

Valve confirms Prime eligibility, package mechanics, named releases, and Armory changes. Conventional-case membership, approximate reset timing, common composition, duplicate behavior, and rollover require non-primary labels. Membership and probability are separate claims; no precise active-versus-rare weekly percentage is published.

Case-opening ROI and rarity odds do not establish the chance that a case appears in the package. Weapon-finish rarity and source state are also different systems.

Weekly Care Package Not Showing: Least-Risk Checks

Step Check Action
1 Prime Confirm Prime is owned and displayed
2 Cycle Confirm the rank increase happened after the latest reset
3 Existing claim Check whether this cycle’s package was already unlocked or claimed
4 XP source Confirm XP came from an eligible official Valve mode
5 Sync Finish the match and return to the main menu
6 Client Fully exit CS2 and Steam, then relaunch
7 Services Check Steam/CS2 status and update notes
8 Files Verify integrity only if client UI is also malfunctioning
9 Support Escalate after eligibility, timing, rank-up, and XP are confirmed

Give Steam Support the approximate UTC rank-up time, mode, Profile Rank progress, screenshots, and restart confirmation. Do not use AFK farms, clock or registry changes, account sharing, security disabling, or “rare drop boosters.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Sealed Genesis Terminal Still Active?

No. It is rare in the 30 August 2026 snapshot. Dead Hand occupies the active terminal position. Market availability does not change Genesis back to active.

How Many Cases Are in the Active CS2 Drop Pool?

Four conventional cases are active in the dated snapshot: Kilowatt, Revolution, Recoil, and Dreams & Nightmares. Dead Hand is the fifth active container, but it is a Terminal rather than a case. The separate rare pool contains 33 conventional cases plus Sealed Genesis Terminal. Valve does not publish the server-side weight of any member.

Can Old CS:GO Cases Still Drop?

Many remain in the observed rare pool, including Operation Bravo and the original Weapon Cases. Shattered Web, Broken Fang, and Riptide are retired from primary weekly generation.

Is Fever Case a Weekly Drop?

No. Fever Case is an Armory redemption and needs a separate key after redemption. It belongs in neither weekly table.

Do Community Servers Count?

Ordinary third-party servers do not provide the official Profile XP required. Use an eligible Valve mode, finish the match, and return to the menu.

Sources and Verification

Valve/Steam supports eligibility and named changes; game data supports names and mappings; SteamDB supports dated membership; community observation fills only documented gaps. Membership evidence does not reveal weight.

Keep This CS2 Drop Pool Current

After every Valve item update, editors must compare SteamDB with current game data; review new Valve and Steam News posts; confirm the four-offer, choose-two interface; open the Armory catalog; check Souvenir redemption; recalculate counts; and update both the visible checked date and dateModified. A new container also needs a migration audit showing what entered, what left active, and whether the displaced source became rare or retired.

Record the live build or patch and assign a maintenance owner. Same-week verification and immediate post-update checks are accuracy requirements.

For live play rather than item-source tracking, see BO5’s live CS2 matches and rankings.
