CS2 betting, still often referred to as CS:GO betting, means wagering real money on professional Counter-Strike matches through a licensed sportsbook. nine of the ten betting sites we review price CS2, from Majors down to regional leagues, but they differ in markets, licenses and records. Each is scored against our published method, and filtered to show only the sites that accept players where you are. Skin gambling is something else, explained below.

How CS2 betting works
You're betting on the outcome of a professional match, most often which team wins the series. Everything else on a CS2 board is a smaller unit than the series, a handicap applied to it, or a number a map produces along the way. A CS2 series is played over maps, and each map over rounds: the first team to 13 rounds wins it, with overtime from 12-12. Teams swap between the CT and T sides at half time, which is why pistol rounds open each half.

Reading CS2 odds
A decimal price is what a winning stake returns in total, stake included, so 1.50 returns one and a half times your stake. Divide 1 by the price for a rough implied probability: 1.50 is about 67 percent. Those numbers are illustrations, not current prices. The two sides of a match always add up to more than 100 percent, and that overhang is the book's margin. Live prices across the books we track are on CS2 odds.
Skin gambling isn't sports betting
Skin gambling uses CS2 items, the weapon skins players collect, as stakes on third-party sites. Sports betting uses real money at a licensed sportsbook. They're regulated completely differently, and Valve treats them completely differently: it bars skin-gambling sites from official CS2 events, and still allows licensed sportsbooks to sponsor them. This page lists licensed sportsbooks only.
What Valve and ESL have done about skin gambling
Valve has acted against skin gambling for a decade. In 2016 it sent cease-and-desist letters to 23 skin-betting sites. Since late 2025, its Limited Game Tournament License, through its Tournament Operation Requirements, bars licensed CS2 events from showing content that violates Valve's intellectual property or the Steam Subscriber Agreement, "for example, game case opening sites or skin trading sites", and from taking sponsors that "rely on Valve's game economies".
The rule leaves real-money sportsbooks and casinos free to sponsor events, because they don't rely on Steam items. In July 2026, ESL FACEIT Group's Pro Tour rulebook followed, barring sponsors that violate Valve's IP, including companies that interact with players' Valve game inventories, which reporting described as a ban on teams promoting skin-trading, case-opening and skin-gambling sites.
The risks of skin gambling
Most skin-gambling sites are unlicensed or lightly licensed, so the protections a licensed sportsbook must provide, from real age checks to rules on how your money is held and a complaints route that ends with a regulator, usually don't apply. Researchers and regulators have raised concerns about under-age users for years, because a skin is easy to get and age checks on these sites are often nominal.
Regulators are now going after the skin economy itself. In February 2026 the New York Attorney General sued Valve, arguing that the path from loot boxes to tradable skins enables illegal gambling. Valve filed a motion to dismiss on 19 May 2026, and the case is ongoing.
That's why this page lists only licensed sportsbooks. No skin-gambling site is named here as a recommendation, and none is linked.

The Majors are Valve-sponsored, and Valve invites teams to them by Valve Regional Standings (VRS), its own ranking of teams from their results. The IEM Cologne Major's 32 teams were invited that way, so the standings shape which teams books price at a Major.
Between Majors, the tier-one circuit is IEM, BLAST, ESL Pro League and PGL, and those are the events books price most deeply, with map, round and player markets. Lower-tier leagues and qualifiers usually get match and map lines, and less else.
Is CS2 betting legal?
Sports betting on CS2 is legal through licensed operators in most countries that license online betting. CS2 sits under the same rules as other sports wherever betting is licensed, and where online betting is banned, it's banned along with everything else. In the US, it's legal only through state-licensed sportsbooks, in states whose regulator has approved esports. Skin gambling is a different question, covered above.
CS2 betting in the US
bet365 and DraftKings price CS2 among the state-licensed sportsbooks we review, and each can offer it only in a state whose regulator has approved esports. FanDuel is reported to price CS2 around major tournaments, but its own pages named no Counter-Strike when we checked on 21 October 2026, so it isn't listed. Each state's position is in our table of esports betting by US state, and where each book is live is on its states page: bet365 states and DraftKings states. Offshore sites that take US players aren't licensed in any US state.
Prediction markets such as Kalshi list CS2 contracts under federal rules that several states dispute. CS2 was about 60% of Kalshi's esports volume in the week of 5 October 2026, by one industry newsletter's count, and on 9 October 2026 the CFTC proposed new rules on event contracts and said wagers with state-licensed sportsbooks stay with the states: see prediction markets and US law.
Brazil's betting restrictions
On 25 September 2026, Brazil's President Lula signed Provisional Measure 1,394, whose Article 16 bans betting advertising, promotion and sponsorship aimed at the Brazilian public, and which was reported to cover 506 websites. CS2 felt it at once: Keyd Stars paused its CS2 project on 30 September, after losing sponsor EstrelaBet, LOUD pulled out of CS2, and a betting-branded Dust2 Brasil event series was cancelled. A provisional measure has to be converted into law by Congress, and reporting ties its fate to Brazil's political calendar. We're re-checking which of our operators serve Brazil.
How to bet on CS2
- Check the site serves where you areStart with the selector above, not with the offer. Outside the US, check the operator accepts players from your country. In the US, check your state, and whether the book offers esports there.

CS2 Betting Questions
What is the best CS2 betting site?
It depends on where you live. Outside the US, esports-focused books such as Thunderpick usually price the most CS2 events and markets, while bet365 and Betway hold UK licenses and stronger consumer protection. In the US, only state-licensed sportsbooks such as bet365 and DraftKings can take CS2 bets, and only in states that have approved esports. We score every operator on esports coverage, markets, odds, payouts, licensing and platform, and a poor regulatory record caps the score however good the CS2 markets are. The table shows only the sites open where you are.
Can you still bet on CS2 matches?
Yes. Licensed sportsbooks price CS2 matches from Majors and the main tournament circuits down to regional leagues, with markets on matches, maps, rounds and player performance. Whether you can bet legally depends on where you live: most countries that license online betting allow it through licensed operators, and in the US it's limited to state-licensed sportsbooks in states that permit esports betting. What has been restricted is skin gambling, because Valve now bars skin-gambling sites from sponsoring official CS2 events.
Is CS2 gambling illegal?
Betting real money on CS2 matches with a licensed sportsbook is legal in most countries that license online betting, and in US states that permit esports betting. Skin gambling, staking CS2 items on third-party sites, is a different matter. Many of those sites are unlicensed or lightly licensed, Valve bars them from sponsoring official CS2 events, and regulators have taken action against parts of the skin economy, including New York's 2026 lawsuit against Valve. Whether a given skin site is legal where you live depends on local law, and most offer none of the protections a licensed sportsbook must provide.
Is skin gambling the same as CS2 betting?
No. CS2 betting means staking real money with a licensed sportsbook, and skin gambling means staking CS2 items on third-party sites. Valve allows sportsbooks to sponsor CS2 events but bars skin-gambling sites.
Can you bet on CS2 on DraftKings or FanDuel?
DraftKings, yes, in states where it holds a sportsbook license and the regulator has approved CS2 events: it lists IEM, BLAST and ESL Pro League. FanDuel is reported to price CS2 around major tournaments, but neither its esports page nor the rest of its site named Counter-Strike when we checked on 21 October 2026, so it isn't listed here. bet365 offers CS2 in its US states too.
When is the next CS2 Major?
PGL Major Singapore runs from late November to 13 December 2026, the first Major held in Southeast Asia. Team Falcons won the previous one, the IEM Cologne Major, in June.
Which CS2 tournaments have the deepest betting markets?
On the operator boards we've recorded, the Majors and the tier-one circuit, IEM, BLAST, ESL Pro League and PGL, carry the most markets, with map, round and player lines, while tier-two and tier-three events usually get match and map lines and little else. We don't yet hold a market count per tournament across books, so we don't rank the tournaments against each other.
Can you make money betting on CS2?
Most bettors lose money over time. Every price a book publishes carries a margin, which is why the implied probabilities of the two sides add up to more than 100 percent, and that margin is charged on every bet, so it compounds the more you place. No CS2 result is predictable, and treating betting as income is the point at which it stops being safe.
