FAQ

CS2 Community Servers questions

The essentials for finding, joining, and troubleshooting Counter-Strike 2 community servers.

What are CS2 community servers?
CS2 community servers are independently hosted servers with their own maps, rules, plugins, and admins. They support modes such as deathmatch, surf, KZ, 1v1, Jailbreak, and skin inspection outside Valve matchmaking.
How do I access the CS2 community server browser?
Open CS2, choose Play, and open the Community Server Browser. You can also connect directly by opening the developer console and entering a connect command supplied by a server owner.
Can I join CS2 community servers directly by IP without the browser?
Yes. Enable the developer console, open it with your assigned console key, and enter connect followed by the server address, for example connect 203.0.113.10:27015. Use the exact IP and port provided by the server.
Are CS2 community servers free to play?
Most community servers are free to join with Counter-Strike 2. Some communities may sell optional VIP perks, reserved slots, or cosmetics, but those purchases are separate from access to CS2 itself.
Why aren't any CS2 community servers showing up for me?
Clear map, latency, region, and password filters first. Then refresh the browser, check that CS2 and Steam are online, and restart the game if the master list still does not load. Direct IP connection can also bypass a stale browser list.
