How to read a LoL match result

A LoL result counts games won. League of Legends is played on a single map, Summoner's Rift, so a series is a run of games on the same map, and the big number on each row is the series result: 3–1 means the winner took three games and dropped one. Each game ends when one team destroys the other's Nexus, so there is no round score underneath it.

The format decides how much a result tells you. A best-of-one loss can be a bad draft or a single mistake, while a best-of-five loss is hard to put down to one bad game.

FormatGames to winWhere it is usedWhat a close result tells you
BO11Most regular-season league playThere is no close result: one game decides it.
BO32Many playoff rounds and international stages2–1 means the series went to a deciding third game.
BO53League finals and the knockout rounds of LoL Worlds and MSI3–2 went the full five games. 3–0 is a sweep.

Formats change between seasons more in League than in any other game BO5 covers, so the league's own rules for the current split are the final word.

What changes in a best-of-five?

A best-of-five tests a team's champion pool and preparation as much as its play, because the draft is repeated up to five times against the same opponent. Under Fearless Draft, which Riot brought to its leagues and international events from the 2025 season, a champion played in one game of a series cannot be picked again by either team later in that series, so a long series pushes both teams deep into their pools. Which competitions use it, and in which series, can change from season to season. Riot publishes each league's rules and schedule through LoL Esports.

Reading team form from results

A run of results says more once you read the league and stage behind each one. The top leagues are not equally strong, so a win in one region is not worth the same as a win in another, and the place they meet is LoL Worlds and MSI. International results are the best test of a team against the rest of the world, while a regional result tests it against its own league.

Weigh playoffs above the regular season too. Regular-season games are mostly best-of-ones, and teams can rest players or try new drafts, while a playoff series is played to win. Then read how each series ended: a team that keeps going the distance is level with its opponents, while a run of sweeps points to a real gap. In BO5's archive between 1 September 2026 and 13 October 2026, 29% of the 58 best-of-three series went to a third game. Once you have a read on form, the LoL betting odds show how the market sees the next series.

Finding a result

Pick a league or event to narrow the archive to LoL Worlds, MSI, the LCK, LPL, LEC, LCS, CBLOL or LCP, and search for a team to find one series fast. The From and To dates hold the archive to a window, such as one week of an event, and Today lists the series that have already finished today. Each row names the league and the stage it was played in. What each league is, and where it sits, is set out with the leagues on the LoL board.

Every date is shown in your own timezone, and the control above the results switches to another. Catching up on a VOD? Turn on Hide scores. The results stay listed with their leagues and dates, but the scores and the winners are covered until you turn it off.

LoL results questions

Who won the most recent LoL Worlds or MSI?

There is no completed LoL Worlds or MSI series in BO5's archive window right now. Their results appear here as soon as those events are played, and the league filter above narrows the archive to them.

How far back do the LoL results go?

The archive holds 150 finished LoL series, going back to September 2026.

Where can I see today's LoL matches?

Live and upcoming series are on the page for LoL matches today, with start times in your timezone. Series that have already finished today stay here: press Today above the results to list them.

Which leagues and events are included?

Every League of Legends competition in BO5's feed. The series in the archive right now are 2 from the LPL, 148 from other competitions, such as academy and regional leagues. If a series you expected is missing, contact us and we will check the feed.

How soon are results added after a series ends?

A series appears once BO5's data feed records its final result, and this page rebuilds from the archive every two minutes. Most of the wait after the last game is the feed, not the page.
