League of LegendsFlip Knife Doppler phases
The Doppler has 7 versions, each with its own paint index: Phase 1, Phase 2, Phase 3 and Phase 4, plus Ruby, Sapphire and Black Pearl. Right now Phase 2 is the priciest numbered phase in Factory New and Phase 3 the cheapest. Valve doesn't publish phase odds, so the phase is only visible on the knife itself or on a phase-tagged listing.

Rare Flip Knife Doppler patterns
Within a phase, the pattern seed decides how much of the blade shows the phase's best color. Collectors pay extra for the strongest examples: mostly-pink Phase 2s, mostly-blue Phase 4s and dark Phase 1s.
| Phase | Premium patterns | What collectors look for |
|---|---|---|
| Phase 1 | Dark seeds | A near-black playside that resembles a Black Pearl |
| Phase 2 | Max Pink seeds | Pink and purple across the blade, with little black |
| Phase 3 | Green and blue seeds | A strong green tone across the blade |
| Phase 4 | Max Blue seeds | Mostly blue, close to a Sapphire look |
Flip Knife Doppler float and wear
The ★ Flip Knife | Doppler's float runs from 0.00 to 0.08, which covers Factory New and Minimal Wear. Within such a narrow range the wear difference is barely visible, so phase and pattern matter far more than float.

About the Flip Knife Doppler
The ★ Flip Knife | Doppler was added in January 2015.
“Flip knives sport a Persian-style back-swept blade with an acute point. While the point itself may be fragile, the overall design of the flip knife's design is surprisingly durable. It has been painted with black and silver metallic paints using a marbleizing medium, then candy coated.”
“Getting lost in its color can prove fatal”
