Which CS2 cases drop right now?
Five containers drop in the weekly care package right now: the Dead Hand Terminal, the Genesis Terminal, the Kilowatt Case, the Revolution Case and the Dreams & Nightmares Case. Every other case comes from the Armory or no longer drops.

Which CS2 cases have knives and gloves?
Every weapon case has a rare special item slot with knives or gloves, but which ones depends on the case. The Butterfly Knife comes from the Dreams & Nightmares Case, Operation Riptide Case, Spectrum 2 Case, Spectrum Case and Operation Breakout Weapon Case, and the Karambit from 16 cases.
How to get cases in CS2
You can get cases three ways: as a weekly drop when you level up, from the Armory, or by buying them on a marketplace. Opening any case needs a key, which costs $2.49 and is only sold by Valve.
Weekly drops
Leveling up each week unlocks a care package, and one of its choices can be a case from the active pool.
The Armory
Armory passes earn credits that can be spent on some cases and collections, such as the Fever Case.
Marketplaces
Every case is tradable, so you can buy one from another player on a marketplace or the Steam Market.
Keys
Each weapon case needs its matching $2.49 key from the in-game store. Terminals don't use keys.
CS2 case odds
Every CS2 weapon case has the same odds: 79.92% Mil-Spec, 15.98% Restricted, 3.20% Classified, 0.64% Covert and 0.26% for a knife or gloves. That works out to one knife or pair of gloves in about every 385 openings.
| Rarity | Chance per opening |
|---|---|
| Mil-Spec | 79.92% |
| Restricted | 15.98% |
| Classified | 3.20% |
| Covert | 0.64% |
| ★ Knife or gloves | 0.26% |
These are Valve's published rates for weapon cases. Terminals use their own mechanics, and Valve hasn't published their odds.
